Jake Bohnsack's Personal Best

Jake boated this 46.5" Muskie this past  weekend.  He hit the water hard for opener and was rewarded with two (43", 46.5") nice muskies.   Love to see the passion and drive Jake.  Congrats again on the great catch!  Keep the pictures coming.

Jake, I gotta ask, "you gonna catch that one?"   Ted Takasaki thinks you should join him in the boat for a day of on the water ;)  Fish On!

Mille Lacs Smallmouth

Headed to Mille Lacs early Sunday morning to chase the Smallmouth around.  We fought the wind and rain but were able to boat a few fish on tube jigs.

This was one of the better Smallmouth that I caught on Sunday.  If you or anyone you know would like to get in on some Bass fishing action feel free to contact me.  I will keep the pictures and stories coming!  Fish On!

Bass Fishing Is Underway

The lack of reports lately is due to the time that I have been spending on the water.  Funny how there is a direct connection; when I fish too much, I get no work done!  :)  But I am "back in the saddle" with the Bass fishing tournament scene and have to update everyone.

Last Tuesday Jeff Ziermann and I fished the Denny's Super 30 Titan Bass Tournament on Lake Minnetonka.   We had a tough practice but we were able to put together enough during the tournament for a 9th place finish.   There were about 70 teams or so in this first event.

Jeff and I started the morning with three real good fish.  Two of them were over four pounds and one was about 3 1/2 pounds.  We knew we would need to continue getting big bites if we wanted to win.  We did get a few more good bites through out the day but it wasn't enough.   We ended the day with 6 good fish and 2 small ones which hurt our total weight for the day.

This is a picture of a few of our better fish from the tournament.

With one tournament behind us and another, The Minnetonka Bass Classic, only three days away Jeff and I needed to find some more fish.  We pre-fished the next few days and found some more areas the fish were hanging.  The bite was just as tough on Saturday as it was on Tuesday.  We put together a decent limit late in the day and weighed in 20.76 pounds on 8 Bass.  Was good enough for another 9th place finish out of 116 teams.  The tournament season is now underway and we have started with some  confidence.  We hope to take this momentum and continue with top 10 finishes.  I will keep everyone posted on the upcoming events.  Now, get on the water!  Fish On!
