Gold Rush
The 2011 MN fishing opener has continued to be good to me. After the epic night we had last night I went out tonight in search of a few "eater" walleyes. As you can see I was successful with a great catch of Lake Waconia walleye on MN fishing opener.
Here is my Lake Waconia fishing report.....The "pond" I call my home waters is in really good shape and is kicking out some dandy walleye's if you are willing to chase them. Lake Waconia is got some great fish in it, you just have to be willing to fish in not so nice conditions and you will put nice walleyes in the boat. Our fish tonight all came on a very simple rig-a small jig and a leech.
We hit the water tonight with the intentions of catching some "eater" size walleye. Call me crazy but I wanted to do something other then catch 7-11lb walleyes on Lake Waconia. I love to catch giants as much as the next guy, but I was craving the 16-20" fish that taste so good in the oil. It was a successful night of fishing once again. I was able to boat 3 nice "eater" size walleyes which will be crucial to my fish fry tomorrow.
The last 24 hours has been a "gold rush"! The 2011 fishing opener will be one I won't soon forget. It just goes to show that hard work, time spent on the water, and determination does pay off. Fishing can be very hit and miss-hence why we call it fishing. It has been a long 24+ hours and we will be back at it tomorrow. Stay tuned for more updates, photos, and info as the week goes on. Until next time, Fish On!
