True Giant!

P10104392.JPG

Was on Waconia last night for a few hours before dark to do a little bass fishing.  Jeff and I flipped coon tail and milfoil all evening.  We probably only caught 6 or 7 fish all evening but one of them was a real gem.  This 21", 6lb largemouth fell victim to a 3/4 oz Stanley Platinum Eye jig tipped with a Zoom Super Chunk Jr.  When I set back on the bite it was like I was snagged on the bottom.  The fish didn't move.   It eventually came out of the grass and I was able to land it.  This was a true giant.  Lake Waconia can kick fish like this out at any time.  P10104422.JPG

The Bite Is On!

154-5494_IMG.JPG

First day this year chasing the toothy critters really payed off for Bill, Al, and Virgil.  This is Virgil's first ever muskie and it measured 41".  This was the third muskie that Virgil had a chance at.  The first two didn't cooperate (got off) as well as this fish.

Al was also able to catch his first ever muskie.  This healthy fish measured 43 1/2" and went wild next to the boat.  All together we saw over 10 muskies had 5 on and boated 2.  I think the fish God was looking down on us today.  I think they said a few extra prayers last night.  The fish were every where.  Everyone in the boat had at least one chance.  It was a great day on the water with some great guys.  Thanks Al, Bill, and Virgil for a trip I will never forget.  Until next time, Fish On!

Denny's Super 30

Fished a Denny's Super 30 bass tournament on Monday with Jeff Ziermann and boated 8 fish for 23.10.  All year long we have struggled for a big bite, and that theme stayed the same on Monday.  Jeff and I have consistently caught nice bags all year.  We were the only team in the top 2o that didn't have a fish over 4 pounds.  Our big fish was 3.75.  We are catching the right fish, but missing being in the top 5 every time by one big bite.

Fishers Of Men

Fished the Waconia Fishers Of Men on Saturday with Jason Berg and weighed 15.07 to finish in 5th place.  We were happy with our finish since neither of us had been on the lake for a month and had no idea where the fish where or what they were biting.  We adjusted through out the day and were able to catch a decent bag.  The storm that rolled through Friday night really made for a tough bite Saturday morning.
