MN Fishing Opener 2011 and a lil Crappie Action
Tomorrow marks the start of another fishing opener here in MN! It is an exciting time of year as 700,000 anglers prepare to take to some of the best water in the country in search of Walleye and Northern Pike.
This year's cooler then normal spring and high water in many areas should make for a "good" if not great opener. The walleyes should still be shallow in many lakes searching for bait fish at or after dark. The high water will allow those fish to get up in those shallow hard bottom areas and feed during low light. I will be venturing out on Lake Waconia for the 2011 MN Fishing Opener and will report back with pictures and a fishing report tomorrow morning.
I have been passing my time until opener chasing crappies and it has been a great spring for crappies action here on the metro lakes. This was a nice limit I had the other night for a fish fry. Nothing better then fresh fish for dinner! Until next time- Fish On!
