Doesn't Make The List

This is a short video of a nice 8 point buck that is still rather young so I opted to let him go to grow. He should grow into a pretty nice buck in a few years when he reaches maturity. The MN hit list is still intact and actually still growing. Good news after the gun season has come and gone.

My Mood

Ohhhhhhhh...sometimes I get a good feeling, I get a feeling I never had before!
This song has nothing to do with fishing or hunting but it does a great job of describing my hunting mood. I have woke up at 5 am or earlier for 40 days straight and still have no giant to show for it. But I still continue to do it, and will continue to have a "Good Feeling"! I get that feeling every time I hook up my boat or I put the bow case in the truck. The good feeling never wears off. This afternoon when I head back to my stand I will get that "good feeling" once again. Priceless! Do your kids a favor and take them in the woods and on the water...they will appreciate it and forever thank you for instilling them with the "good feeling". The resource is one of a kind.

Mathews Heli-m

As many of you have read or heard Mathews has unveiled their new 2012 bow lineup and the feature in the new lineup is the all new Heli-m.  This bow is 20 years in the making and will not disappoint.  Mathews never seems to stop, they continue to lead with innovation and make an amazing bow.  When you think they can't come up with anything better then what they offered in 2011 they shock us all again with the all new Heli-m.

Weighing in at only 3.5 lbs this bow will be very forgiving with a generous 7" brace height and 30" axle to axle.  Yet it is short and small enough to shoot great in any situation including in a ground blind.  Not to mention the thing looks hot in the Mathews Lost Camo or my personal favorite Tactical Black!  Go online now and design your very own Mathews Heli-m.

Licking My Wounds

Once again a "non-shooter" comes right into range. This time around I noticed something peculiar on his side.... He has a large open wound that was not on this deer 2 weeks ago when I had him walk right under my stand. Watch the video and let me know what you think. Is it a wound from another hunter, did he get clipped by a car, or was he wounded in a fight with a much larger buck during the pre-rut phase? I still have my eye on the prize, and if neither of the two deer I am after present a shot I will be preparing to try and harvest them again next year. Wish me luck!
