Here Fishy, Fishy

 

Ice fishing is upon us.  The cold arctic air that has moved in has turned our soft water to hard and the ice fishing season is officially under way.  Scott and I have been out the last few nights chasing walleyes and had great results.  Tuesday night we were able to catch 13 and last night we were able to catch another 7 or 8.    

Last night the temps dipped to -5 degrees making it very hard to keep our holes from freezing up.  I do have one 6.5'x14' permanent house out and plan on getting others out soon.  Waconia has 4-8" of good clear solid ice on the whole lake.  The only open spots are where the geese are keeping it open.  I will keep everyone posted on how the bite is going.

Scottie and I were hard at it again last night.  As you can tell our hard work paid off.  The walleye bite has been pretty good after dark.  Good luck, be safe, and fish on!
