The bass bite has been good

The bass bite has been good the last few weeks in the metro, with a lot of fish starting to school on the outside weedline. We have been doing best fishing a jig worm in 10-16 feet of water. Walleyes are still running on the small side, but the numbers have been good. I would stick to a jig tipped with a minnow on the outside weed edges and breaks.
Canada, here I come. Jeremy Bester and myself are leaving today for the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship. The tournament takes place over three days on Rainy Lake. I look forward to catching some giant smallmouth over the next week and a half. If you would like to follow how Jeremy and I are doing during the tournament please visit www.canadianbass.com. Every day they will have up-to-date results and live weigh-in. Until then good luck and fish-on! Choy!
